Moremi – Savute – Kasane

Roughly 1,700 pictures later (and some were deleted on the fly,) I have returned from a very extended weekend trip to Botswana’s northern parks. We left early Thursday morning from Maun and spent the day driving to and around Moremi National Park. That night we camped in Moremi near the village of Khwai. Friday we had a grueling all day drive up through the village (that part didn’t take long,) to Savute, which is a southern dry region of Chobe National Park. After spending 2 nights in Savute (and seeing a decaying elephant carcass), we embarked on another grueling and frigid drive to a northern region of Chobe. The northern region we visited is near the village of Kasane and on the banks of the Chobe River. The trip consisted of me, 1 german and 3 dutch volunteers from All Out Africa (Michael, Neils, Lena, Tonya, Ester), and a 4 person german family.

Obviously, there is far too much to say about the trip in a single post and not enough room for 1,700 pictures. I will try to select interesting points and pictures to share over multiple postings (and cups of coffee at Barcelos, my source for internet).
